The HTC One X was the flagship phone of 2012, and still packs a punch today. With an attractive yet simple design, combined with great performance and features, this is one of HTC's best selling devices of all time. Not simply an Android phone, but an Android phone masterfully modified by HTC to allow you quick access to all your favourite apps on a beautifully designed interface.

Design and Display

The design of the HTC One X arguably set the bar for future Android phones, and a bar that major players such as Samsung haven't yet been able to reach. With an elegant modern design combined with a brilliant display, there's nothing not to like about the look of this phone. Coming in at 4.7 inches, the phone is significantly larger than devices such as the iPhone 5s which by contract is just 4 inches. The size doesn't mean a trade off in screen quality however, and the phone manages to include an impressive HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, bringing the pixels per inch to an impressive 312 - similar to that on the latest iPhones. Thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass included it's quite hard to damage the screen in normal usage.

Amazing Cameras

HTC are well known for making camera that create much better images per megapixel than their rivals. You might have even seen their adverts showing comparison images from the HTC One X and major competitors. There's no denying that HTC make arguably the best Android phone cameras available. The HTC One X comes with a 8 megapixel rear shooter and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. The main rear camera also comes with an impressive LED flash which is useful for low light situations. Plus the main camera can take Full HD 1080p video at 24 frames per second, while the front facing camera is capable of 720p HD video - perfect for video calling family and friends.

With an impressive quad-core 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, the HTC One X really excels when it comes to performance. There's also a full 1 GB of RAM for helping open applications run smoothly, plus a ULP GeForce graphics processor. This was one of the speediest phones when released and is still fast enough today that you won't notice any apps running slow.

The phone also comes with a choice of 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage to choose from, but sadly isn't expandable using microSD so if you need the space it's best to opt for the 32 GB version at the time of purchase. For normal users who regularly sync their phone either size should be big enough for most uses.

HTC's partnership with Beats Audio really pays off when it comes to sound quality and you'd be hard pressed to find a better phone for listening to music on. The HTC One X also comes with 4G LTE so can reach blazingly fast speeds on UK mobile networks, plus has a great 3G chip allowing those not prepared to pay extra for 4G to still enjoy speedy internet. For drivers there's also a dedicated HTC Car interface meaning hands free driving is even better with this handset. The battery is rated at 1800 mAh which should be enough to get almost everyone through a days usage.

HTC has made some major modifications to the standard Android operating system for the HTC One X, and these modifications really add value to the overall package. This interface is much easier to use than the standard out of the box Android. Plus the phone comes pre-installed with all the apps you'll need from Evernote to Dropbox, SkyDrive to Facebook, so you won't have to go straight to the Google Play store when you open the HTC One X's box.
